Location: We are recruiting Industrial Electricians for our maintenance department in the Bioresources business area, covering Hull, Bridlington, Leeds, and Bradford. This is a mobile role, with your home location determining your area of coverage.
Work type: Permanent, 37 hours/week. Out-of-hours work, weekends, and bank holidays included on a structured standby rota. Flexibility is required for on-call duties.
What We Do: Yorkshire Water supplies over 5.4 million residents and visitors with clean drinking water and wastewater services. We also focus on community wellbeing, environmental protection, and sustainable water management, especially through bioresources.
Role Responsibilities: Maintenance of electrical and mechanical assets, responding to emergencies, fault diagnosis, supervising contractors, and training apprentices. Installation and commissioning of new equipment, conducting risk assessments, and using workflow management tools.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship and relevant qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, etc.)
* Full driving license
Desirable: IET 18th Edition, CompEx certification, HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Experience Required: Safe isolation, fault finding on control circuits, industrial motors, 3-phase systems, rotating equipment, LV control circuits, and experience working in hazardous environments. IT literacy and report writing skills are essential.
Additional Desirable Skills: Pneumatics, ATEX standards, UPS systems, variable speed drives, actuated valves.
Previous experience in water, wastewater, utilities, or manufacturing sectors is preferred. Candidates must pass medical assessments for hazardous environments.
