Private Wealth Legal Director – Leeds An outstanding & senior level opportunity has arisen for a STEP-qualified Solicitor to join a highly regarded Private Wealth team based in Leeds at Director level. This senior-level role is ideal for an experienced private client Solicitor or Legal Executive seeking a leadership position within a forward-thinking and expanding law firm. The Role: You will manage a high-value caseload of complex and often cross-border private client matters. This includes: Wills and succession planning Inheritance tax (IHT) and estate planning Creation and administration of trusts Probate and estate administration Powers of Attorney You will advise high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, including business owners and clients with international assets. Many estates will be multi-jurisdictional and contentious, requiring strong technical expertise and discretion. In addition to fee-earning, you will play a key role in team leadership, strategic development and wider firm initiatives such as mentoring, business planning and training. About You: To be considered for this role, you will ideally have: A minimum of 8 years' PQE in private client work (pre-qualification experience may also be considered if substantial and relevant) Proven experience advising HNW/UHNW clients and handling complex estate matters A STEP qualification (or equivalent experience/credentials) Experience managing and supervising a private wealth team Strong cross-border expertise is highly desirable The ability to work confidently with professional intermediaries and generate your own work is advantageous A collaborative, commercially minded approach and excellent interpersonal skills You should be adept at managing sensitive family dynamics and high-value estates, particularly those with contentious elements. Experience acting as independent administrator in disputed probate cases would be beneficial.
