Overview
Washington Academy, part of Consilium Academies, is seeking to appoint a Business Support Assistant to provide high-quality administrative and clerical support across the Academy, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our school office and student services. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive individual who thrives in a busy environment and is committed to supporting both students and staff.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, students and parents, ensuring a welcoming and professional service.
* Provide a full range of administrative support, including handling phone calls, managing emails, maintaining records, and organising school events.
* Assist with student services such as attendance records, uniform queries, trip organisation, and general pupil support.
* Support safeguarding and compliance processes, including visitor checks, first aid, and maintenance of accurate records.
* Contribute to the smooth running of the Academy by working flexibly and collaboratively as part of our administration team.
Requirements
* Highly organised, with strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
* A confident communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills and a professional telephone manner.
* Proficient in using ICT systems including spreadsheets, email, and databases (experience with SIMS desirable).
* Able to work calmly under pressure, maintaining attention to detail in a busy environment.
* Committed to safeguarding and to the welfare of our students.
* Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally in a school environment, would be an advantage, though not essential.
* Provide the names, addresses, and contact details for two referees, one of whom should be your current or most recent employer.
