Nottingham, Hybrid Working (2 days per week in office)
Help shape the future of Nottingham.
Nottingham City Council is delivering an ambitious programme of regeneration to unlock growth, accelerate housing delivery and create thriving, sustainable neighbourhoods. We are now seeking three Regeneration Officers to join our Planning Strategy & Regeneration service at a pivotal time for the city.
If you are commercially aware, analytically strong, and motivated by delivering visible change, this is an opportunity to work on projects that directly transform places and improve lives.
The Role
As a Regeneration Officer, you will support the development and delivery of high‑impact regeneration projects from inception through to completion. Working across housing, employment land, mixed‑use development and place‑making schemes, you will help secure investment, unlock development opportunities and ensure projects align with corporate priorities and regional strategy.
* Assist in the development and delivery of regeneration schemes, ensuring compliance with agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards
* Prepare feasibility studies, viability appraisals and development briefs to inform decision‑making
* Support funding bids and manage grant monitoring, ensuring compliance with funding conditions
* Maintain project performance frameworks and escalated risks where required
* Engage with developers, investors, businesses and community stakeholders
* Contribute to strategy development aligned with Council priorities
* Prepare reports and briefings for senior officers, Members and external boards
* Monitor changes in regeneration policy and funding regimes
* Embed Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and climate responsibility into all aspects of delivery
This is a delivery‑focused role requiring strong project discipline, commercial understanding and stakeholder management capability.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
Technical & Professional Capability
* Knowledge of regeneration policy, funding regimes and development viability
* Commercial awareness and understanding of development processes
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data
* Experience contributing to funding bids and grant compliance monitoring
* Degree (or equivalent experience) in regeneration, planning, property development or related discipline
Leadership & Behaviours
* Drive and motivation to deliver against challenging objectives
* Confidence to propose ideas and contribute to service improvement
* Evidence of partnership working across public, private and community sectors
* Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
You will not line‑manage staff, but you will influence partners, stakeholders and project contributors.
Why Join Nottingham?
You will be working in a city with significant regeneration momentum, strong regional partnerships and a clear ambition for inclusive economic growth. These roles offer exposure to complex, high‑value projects and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on communities across Nottingham.
