Job Overview
The Data Analyst sits in the Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) Operations team, adding value by improving and developing information services across the Trust and wider health and care system. The role supports the transition from outsourced arrangements to an in-house delivery model and works closely with other DDaT services to deliver continuous overall improvement.
Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Data Analytics & Information Provision
* Lead on Data Analysis: Perform advanced data analysis, applying statistical methods, business intelligence tools, and data modelling techniques to generate insights that support the Trust's strategic objectives across multiple areas, including performance, quality improvement, benchmarking, and operational efficiency.
* Reporting and Interpretation: Create and deliver detailed reports based on complex datasets, translating raw data into actionable intelligence for key stakeholders.
* Data Integrity and Quality: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all data sources used for analysis, applying formal QA processes.
* Routine and Ad Hoc Reporting: Support the production of both routine and ad hoc reports, responding to internal and external information requests, including NHS requirements, regulatory reporting, and Trust performance monitoring.
* Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate complex statistical results to clinicians, operational managers, and senior executives; facilitate data-driven discussions and workshops.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clinical, operational, financial, and performance teams to understand data needs and align analysis with objectives.
* Present Findings: Lead presentations of data insights in meetings, workshops, and strategic discussions.

Person Specification
Education, Qualification and Training – Essential Criteria
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Experience in a role involving analysis, investigation and resolution of complex statistical / analytical queries.
* Experience of contributing to Information Management policies.
* Commitment and willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working within an NHS or health sector organisation.
* Experience of applying NHS Data Standards and knowledge of the data dictionary.
Essential Experience
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SQL/Management Information Systems.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to interpret data, create reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
* Ability to demonstrate understanding of priorities.
Desirable Experience
* Information experience gained in an Acute setting.
* Experience delivering training on technical information.
