KYC Refresh Event Driven Review - Director

Client Onboarding & Regulatory Data Services (CORDS) is an Operations function within Shared Services and Banking Operations (SSBO) and is responsible for regulatory client onboarding, refresh and screening of the firms clients

KYC Refresh supports a number of regulatory compliance requirements specified by our local/global regulators and provide a rigorous and robust process of investigation that seeks, with reasonable assurance, to verify and validate the customer’s identity and their business.

The KYC Refresh team is responsible for managing the refresh program across global jurisdictions and ensuring timely and accurate completion of periodic refresh reviews of the firms clients. The team partners closely with Global Financial Crimes, Legal and Compliance, internal/external stakeholders to contribute to the success of the refresh program.

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director for the Event Driven Review team in Glasgow.

What will you be doing?


* Responsible for performing the timely and accurate completion of event driven refresh for the firms clients
* Escalate appropriately any risks and process issues identified during trigger validation review process
* Act as a subject matter expert on AML/KYC matters
* Ensure all policies, procedures and guidelines are followed by KYC Refresh team
* Exhibit the highest standards of customer service to our internal and external customers (inclusive of confidentiality)
* Plan ahead to effectively meet deadlines by rebalancing workload often. Actively perform daily risk management checks with a keen focus on throughput
* Close the loop on thematic issues and apply the lessons learned to full team. Regularly discuss progress/ challenges and overall program status with stakeholders
* Ability to carry out case scheduling through engagement with other internal KYC teams
* Liaise with other CORS team such as policy advisory for policy and tech improvements
* Embed robust processes to adhere to MS best practice and to enable control and maintenance of quality. Ensure the appropriate and confidential handling / sharing of sensitive client data
* Coordinate process improvements and complex issue resolution by partnering with NMR, Global Financial Crimes (GFC), KYC management, program management, and other Operations teams
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with your team, Lines of Business, Operations, Audit,

Compliance, and Technology to ensure consistent quality delivery

* Lead ongoing change initiatives and build/maintain a strong understanding of the relevant MS policies and regulatory environment

What We’re Looking For

* Experience of delivering high standards of client engagement
* College/University degree or equivalent with a business focus and relevant/proven experience
* Strong knowledge of AML/KYC requirements
* AML, client onboarding, or client reference data experience desirable
* Outstanding client management, partnership building, leadership and direct experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders at one time

* Exceptional problem solving skills, ability to independently assess and identify plans for resolution
* Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize time accordingly

* Strong ability to manage large data sets in order to analyze project trackers and metrics
* Expertise in data visualisation and reporting in a cross-functional team and to senior stakeholders using business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Alteryx, Dynamics etc.) preferred
