* Recording and reporting observations/interactions within family time.
* Building professional working relationships with families to ensure children and their families receive a positive experience throughout the process.
* Provide feedback to parents/carers at the beginning and end of every session (handover period).
* To complete detailed reports from notes taken during family time, providing evidence of general parenting ability and interactions, which are often submitted as evidence in Court Proceedings.
* Ensure at all times that the child's safety and well-being are paramount and take appropriate action to protect children's safety, intervening where this is threatened and terminating family time if deemed necessary.
* Be able to identify parent's strengths and areas for development and assist them to provide quality family time, setting up routines, appropriate boundaries and providing stimulation.
Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to communicate effectively with children and parents/carers in order to build positive, supportive relationships.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, whilst being able to use your own initiative.
* Ability to use IT to write written reports. Support will also be provided to you.
* Ability to work alone but as directed by management.
* Ability to transport/escort children both within South Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
* Ability to handle conflict and difficult situations in a calm, respectful and non-confrontational manner.
* Have a non-judgemental attitude.
Requirements:
* A recognised qualification, such as NVQ/Diploma at Level 3 in Child Care or Health and Social Care or equivalent, or be working towards this.
* GCSE in English Grade C / Grade 4 or above.
* Statutory or voluntary experience of working with children and families - at least one year.
