An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy for an exceptional Teaching Assistant to work with an experienced and highly motivated team of professionals. We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and talented professional to join and further reinforce our growing Inclusion and SEND provision team at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy. We welcome applications from candidates who have a passion for working with young people and families in order to improve life chances and opportunities; the skills needed to provide specialist support for young people with special educational needs and disabilities and the drive to provide specialist support to unlock barriers to learning and enable young people to thrive and achieve their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to work closely across key stages 3 and 4 with students who may have specific learning needs or challenges with their social, emotional and mental health and/or engagement issues. We are looking to appoint the right person with the personal qualities and attributes to support and inspire engagement in learning. The Ideal Candidate Will be committed to Maltby Learning Trust's Vision and Values and the Academy's Key Drivers. be a driven, proactive, and positive individual with an unwavering commitment to continuously improving their own standards. have a true growth mindset, exceptional work ethic and a sense of humour. be a team player and work closely with other professionals and implement effective strategies to ensure systems and processes are rigorously adhered to. be an excellent professional with high expectations of all learners and staff within the team. have experience of working with students exhibiting challenging behaviours. have the ability to engage, inspire and build excellent relationships with students, acting as a role model and responding appropriately to individual needs. have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new ideas. work with the teacher to establish an appropriate learning environment. support the movement of students with disabilities around the academy site. participate in the handling of students with disabilities. support students consistently, whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs. have the knowledge and experience of the context in which Sir Thomas Wharton Academy operates.
