Data Engineer | Hybrid | Up to £68.5K
We're working with an established organisation in the insurance space, currently undergoing a full-scale data transformation – they're looking for a mid to senior level Data Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a greenfield Azure-based data platform that powers everything from pricing and claims to automation and real-time insights.
You'll be building scalable pipelines, modernising data infrastructure, and working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive smarter decisions. It’s hands-on, varied, and backed by a business that’s fully bought into data-led innovation.
What you’ll be doing:
* Building ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Delta Lake
* Developing cloud-first solutions across the Azure data ecosystem
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements
* Supporting the transition from spreadsheets to a governed, automated data platform
* Helping shape the platform’s future – with the chance to grow into leadership or stay hands-on
You should apply if you have:
* Very strong experience working with Azure, Databricks, and large-scale data pipelines
* Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or PySpark
* Understanding of data modelling, real-time streaming, and performance tuning
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and IaC (Terraform, GitHub Actions)
* Experience with Unity Catalog, Azure Purview, and other data governance tools
* Great communication skills and the confidence to work directly with the business and upskill others around you.
What’s on offer:
💼 Up to £68,500 (max offer)
🏡 Hybrid working (2 days on-site in Bristol - non negotiable)
💰 Annual bonus + enhanced pension
🩺 Health and wellbeing perks, EV scheme, flexi-time, generous leave, and more
If you're ready to play a key role in a major transformation – and want to build something meaningful from the ground up – we’d love to hear from you.
*Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this role - you must hold an existing full and unrestricted right to work in the UK (not time-limited)*
