Were working with aspecialist engineering consultancybased in Greater Manchester who are looking for anElectronics & Instrumentation Technicianto support the design, test, and calibration of advanced hardware systems - including technology used inspace, aerospace, and high-integrity industrial applications. The Opportunity Youll be joining asmall, collaborative teamof engineers and technicians, and working closely with a Senior Electronics & Instrumentation Engineer who will support and mentor you. Its a great opportunity tolearn niche skills, work onone-off test setups, and apply your practical electronics experience to real-world research and development challenges. What Youll Be Doing Instrumentation setup and test activities Building and maintaining wiring harnesses, control boxes, and sensor assemblies Reading and occasionally modifying basic schematics and PCB layouts Calibrating sensors (force transducers, strain gauges, thermocouples, etc.) Fault finding and hands-on troubleshooting using lab test equipment Supporting the prototyping and maintenance of lab-based test equipment Working in both lab and controlled cleanroom environments Youll Need To Have Apprenticeship, HNC, BTEC or hands-on experience in electronics, instrumentation, or control systems Good soldering, wiring, and fault-finding skills Experience using test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies) Curiosity, attention to detail, and a desire to learn from experienced engineers A hands-on, get stuck in mindset ideal if you enjoy DIY electronics, RC builds, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar projects in their own time What Youll Get Salary in the£28,000-£32,000range depending on experience Strong benefitsincluding enhanced pension (up to 8%), 25 days holiday, healthcare, life assurance and more The chance to work on genuinely unique projects in a professional, R&D-driven environment Opportunities to learn niche skills in vacuum systems, test instrumentation, and spacecraft component testing Interested?
