Job Vacancy LANDFILL TECHNICIAN (Ref: LFT/05/26) Permanent, Full time Position (40 hours per week Monday to Friday) Must be available to work weekends/Bank Holidays as and when required Location: Craigmore Road, Garvagh Due to our continual growth, we are looking to appoint a full time Landfill Technician, at our depot in Garvagh. Roles & Responsibilities Operating heavy plant equipment such as Digger, Dozers, Bomag Compactor, Excavators, Dump trucks and other related equipment necessary to facilitate the day-to-day operations at the landfill site. Perform duties to dispose of non -combustible/non- recyclable waste materials at the landfill site. Spread and compact layers of waste Observe waste to identify hazardous material or substances excluded from deposit at the landfill site and report to the Landfill manager. Perform routine checks on machines to ensure machines are in proper working order and report immediately any issues to Landfill Manager. Where applicable, provide minimal maintenance of various landfill equipment/machines. Ensure compliance with statutory and company obligations, & Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times to a high standard. Paperwork - register, log and report on waste received at landfill on all relevant IT software as applicable. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times Ensure all Machines on site comply with the relevant H&S standards and company standard operating procedures. Always apply Manual Handling techniques. Any other reasonable duties as delegated by the Landfill Manager. Essential Criteria Must have a valid licence/certificate and have at least 2 years' experience of operating one of the following machines: Digger, Dozers, Bomag Compactor, Excavators, Dump truck Confident operating machinery on steep flanks Good organisational skills Good communication skills - both written and verbal IT Skills- a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word Ability to work well on own initiative Be self-motivated Ability to work well with others Flexible approach to work hours Willing to work in all weather conditions Willing to work under pressure in a busy environment Desirable Criteria Previous experience operating machines within a landfill site Experience using GPS What We Offer!
