At Branston, potatoes are our business. We supply both fresh and prepared products to some of the UK’s leading retailers. Based at our Fresh site, you will work closely with the Procurement Manager to help ensure a consistent and reliable supply of raw materials, maintaining sufficient stock levels to support production and meet customer demand at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage purchase of raw material, ensuring the factory has sufficient stock & customer orders can be met.
* Undertake relevant professional studies in purchasing and supply to develop technical knowledge and support continuous professional development within the role.
* Develop and maintain regular contact with Branston grower group members to manage contracted tonnage against budget targets and whilst promoting the company’s core values and expectations.
* Work closely with site quality, production and planning teams to ensure customer quality specification is maintained following procurement process and standards.
* Work alongside the Agronomy team, with regular opportunities to visit farms and observe crops throughout the growing and harvest process.
* Upon completion of training, support the trading of surplus crops and secondary-grade materials.
What we are looking for:
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Full valid UK driving license
* The ability to work on own initiative
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience within fresh produce or agricultural industry would be advantageous but not essential.
