Job Title: Technical Service Manager Location: Education Facilities – Commutable Distance to Rochdale Salary: £55,000 Car Allowance 5% Annual Bonus Sector: Facilities Management / Building Services Employer: Leading UK Service Provider About the Role We are recruiting for a Technical Service Manager (TSM) to oversee the delivery of building services across multiple educational facilities in the Rochdale area. Working for a nationally recognised and respected service provider, this is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining compliance, performance standards, and customer satisfaction across two local school contracts. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage the technical delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across multiple school sites. * Provide expert guidance in mechanical, electrical, and fabric systems to ensure compliant, safe, and efficient solutions. * Oversee a team of on-site engineers, ensuring performance standards, compliance, and best practice in all aspects of building services. * Monitor service delivery KPIs and drive continuous improvement in both technical and customer service outcomes. * Maintain strong client relationships with key education stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and issue resolution. * Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations, health & safety standards, and service level agreements (SLAs). * Support in audits, compliance checks, and technical assessments across all locations. What We’re Looking For * Proven experience in a similar Facilities Management / Building Services leadership role. * Strong technical background in M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) and fabric maintenance. * Confident managing PPM and reactive maintenance schedules within high-footfall environments (education sector preferred). * Sound knowledge of compliance regulations, building standards, and H&S requirements. * Experience managing a team of multi-skilled engineers. * Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills. * Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., C&G, HNC/HND, IOSH/NEBOSH desirable).
