Head of IT
About the Role
Nigel Frank is proud to be working with a leading UK manufacturer, currently seeking a Head of IT to join their leadership team. This is a pivotal position within a well-established, fast-growing organisation - ideal for an experienced IT leader who thrives in a hands-on, strategic role.
You’ll be responsible for owning and executing the company’s IT and Data strategy, managing a small, high-performing team, and ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and efficient technology solutions that support business growth.
This is a fully onsite role (5 days per week) based in High Wycombe, offering close collaboration with senior stakeholders, including the Board and Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the operational delivery of the IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with the organisation’s commercial and operational objectives.
* Manage and develop the internal IT team across data analytics, user support, and third-party application management.
* Oversee vendor and Managed Services Partner relationships, ensuring optimal service levels and contract performance.
* Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity policies, risk assessments, and disaster recovery frameworks to protect business systems and data.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection standards, embedding a culture of security awareness across the business.
* Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure uptime (target 99.9%) through proactive maintenance and system optimisation.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and deliver innovative IT solutions that improve efficiency and operational performance.
* Maintain IT budgets, expenditure approvals, and invoice reconciliation in line with company policy.
* Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on IT performance, project progress, and risk management.
Technical & Professional Requirements
* Minimum 7+ years’ experience in IT service management or infrastructure delivery, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or strategic role.
* Strong technical proficiency in Office 365 administration, Active Directory, and endpoint management.
* Working knowledge of ITIL or ITSM frameworks and vendor management best practices.
* Experience conducting cybersecurity audits, risk assessments, and business continuity planning.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and translate technical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on technical oversight.
