Technician, RAF Molesworth
Permanent, Full time, hours per week (Monday - Friday)
£, plus on-call allowance (plus overtime when called out)
Serco have an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join the team at RAF Molesworth.
As the Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the through life service and repair of a fleet of UK and US spec vehicles ranging from cars to fire trucks.
The role is hours per week Monday – Friday and you will be part of a fantastic team who also provide /7 accident and breakdown cover. An allowance is paid on top of your salary for holding a call-out phone 1 week in 4, and any callout attracts overtime on top of that.

Main responsibilities of the role include:
1. Repair and maintenance on a fleet of Vehicles (% are US Spec Left-hand drive).
2. Repair and maintenance on a range of equipment (including tail lifts, generators etc).
3. Perform inspections, maintenance, identify faults and carry out repairs on all vehicle types as required.
4. Use of diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles
5. Ensure that all maintenance and repairs are carried out in accordance with relevant instructions and regulations.
6. Conduct vehicle test drives to verify vehicle roadworthiness.
7. Operate all tools, equipment, and machinery according to associated safety procedures.
8. Follow company safety procedures and industry standards to perform role, including COSHH, manual handling, working at height, etc.
What you’ll need to do the role (essential):
9. Must have a full clean UK Driving License
10. NVQ Level 3 Maintenance Qualification or Equivalent
11. Be self-motivated with relevant experience in vehicle inspection, repair, maintenance and diagnostics and able to work to a high standard
12. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate Security Clearance
Desirable:
13. Mobile Air Conditioning Qualification
14. Drivers Certificate or Professional Competence [CPC]
15. Experience of Tyre changing and balancing
16. HGV licence
17. Experience in roadside recovery + trailer (+E)
18. Forklift license
