We're on the lookout for a talented and versatile Motion Designer to join our creative team. This is a role for someone who loves bringing ideas to life through movement, sound, and visual storytelling. You'll work across the full spectrum of motion design, from initial concept and storyboarding through to final delivery, creating work that captivates audiences and solves real client challenges.
As a mid-weight Motion Designer with 2+ years of experience, you'll have the opportunity to grow your craft while working on diverse projects across multiple platforms and industries. You'll collaborate closely with our creative, strategy, and client teams, taking ownership of projects from brief to delivery.
Your primary responsibilities:
* Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to develop motion concepts that solve client briefs
* Create storyboards, style frames, and mood boards to communicate visual direction
* Design and animate 2D motion graphics using After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
* Create 3D motion graphics and animations using Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar tools
* Source, edit, and integrate music tracks and sound effects to enhance animations
* Present concepts and work-in-progress to clients, clearly articulating creative decisions
* Incorporate client feedback efficiently while meeting brand guidelines
* Optimise animations for various platforms and specifications (social, web, broadcast, digital out-of-home)
* Prepare final deliverables in multiple formats and ensure files are properly organised
* Work across multiple projects simultaneously, managing your own time and priorities effectively
* Communicate proactively with project managers about progress and potential issues
* Stay current with motion design trends, techniques, and emerging technologies
Required Skills/Experience:
* 2+ years of professional motion design experience, ideally in an agency environment
* Expert-level skills in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
* Strong working knowledge of Cinema 4D, Blender, or equivalent 3D software
* Competency in audio editing software (Audition, Premiere Pro, or similar)
* Strong sense of timing, pacing, and composition in animation
* Strong understanding of Graphic Design principles across type, layout and imagery
* Ability to translate briefs into engaging visual narratives and storyboards
* Client-facing experience with excellent communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively
* Understanding of video specifications, codecs, and delivery formats
* Experience integrating live-action footage with motion graphics
* A passion for all things motion design related!
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with Unreal Engine or real-time rendering tools
* Illustration skills
* Video editing capabilities
* Understanding of social media platform requirements
* Knowledge of projection mapping or experiential motion design
