Overview
Multi-Skilled Technician (Mechanical Bias) – Location: Royal Victoria Hospital, Newcastle (with cover at Freeman Hospital). Shift Pattern: 2 x 12-hour day shifts, 2 x 12-hour night shifts, followed by 4 days off. DBS check required prior to start. Shift allowance included.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with contractual requirements.
* Maintain plant and equipment in accordance with O&M manuals, industry best practices, and relevant legislation.
* Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), policies, and procedures.
* Respond to reactive maintenance requests within agreed timeframes, completing all necessary documentation.
* Work safely and professionally at all times, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
* City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience, ideally within a healthcare environment.
* Proven experience in mechanical and/or multi-disciplinary maintenance, including DHW, LTHW, and ventilation systems.
