About the Role
As a Marketing Officer you will be at the heart of our mission to lead innovation and skills in our communities. You’ll play a vital role in delivering our 2025–2028 Strategic Development Plan, specifically focusing on boosting recruitment for 16–18‑year‑olds, adult learners, apprentices, and degree‑level students at our purpose‑built University Centre Rotherham (UCR). In a highly competitive market, you will help our college stand out to prospective learners, employers and other key influencers.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as an account manager for assigned departments and college, building strong relationships with curriculum and work‑based learning teams.
* Write engaging copy for course guides, press releases, website content and social media.
* Plan and manage marketing campaigns from concept to completion.
* Maintain a constant flow of positive stories across digital platforms and social media channels.
* Assist in running showcase events such as HE Graduation and college Open Days.
* Collaborate with Graphic Designers and Digital Officers to produce high‑quality media products.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in a marketing role, ideally within education or training.
* Success in planning and implementing marketing plans and campaigns.
* Excellent copy‑writing skills and ability to create a range of marketing materials.
* Strong communication skills, able to work with colleagues at various levels across the organisation, both in person and digitally.
* Degree or equivalent in marketing, media, communications, public relations or journalism, or willingness to work towards one; vocational qualification at level 3 or above preferred.
* Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths, or willingness to undertake.
Department Info
You will report to the Group Campaigns and Marketing Manager who will give you direction, but you will plan and prioritise your day‑to‑day workload. You will work with the other Marketing Officers across the Group and members of the marketing team to ensure projects are completed to agreed timescales.
