Job Description:

About the role

BDP Pattern is the sports and entertainment division of BDP, a global architecture and engineering practice with a network of studios across the UK, EMEA, Asia, North America and Latin America. Specialising in stadium and arena design, BDP Pattern creates iconic venues around the world.

BDP Pattern is currently delivering Everton Football Club’s new stadium in Liverpool and are looking to grow our team for future projects.

We are looking for passionate computational designers with Architecture Degrees to join the Edinburgh studio’s design team, to work across all live projects, particularly on key packages such as the façade, roof, and seating bowl.

Experience

* RIBA Part 2 or Qualified
* Expertise in Rhino and Grasshopper is essential for the computational role
* A willingness to learn and an interest in computational design is essential
* A knowledge of Revit and Dynamo is beneficial but not essential
* Any previous experience in Digital Fabrication/DfMA is beneficial
* Previous experience on large-scale complex projects from RIBA stage 0-4 is beneficial
* Freehand drawing / sketching

The right candidate will have a portfolio which demonstrates independent thinking, creativity, and a broad range of technical skills. The computational role will require the ability to produce and manage complex geometries. The candidate will have excellent spoken and written English for client-facing workshops and presentations and be prepared for travel within the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a globally respected architectural practice working across high-profile projects globally. There is room to grow and develop with support in place to succeed and rise through the practice.

This will be working in a hybrid role with at least three days in the office and the rest from home.

To be considered for this position you must hold the right to work in the UK.

Harnessing our collective ethos, the spirit of BDP is about making places for people. Our structure and governance as a global network of federated city studios create design hubs that are connected to the cities, regions, and communities they serve.

As part of the Nippon Koei Group, we fuse our passion for architecture and engineering with user-centered design and large-scale infrastructure projects to deliver world-class solutions for better, more prosperous places.

BDP offers

In return, BDP can offer you a wide range of learning opportunities to encourage personal and professional career development. From sponsorship to profession-led events, we also offer annual appraisals and a mentoring program which is supported by our online internal learning platform.

We are committed to being an employer of choice and offer a competitive remuneration and benefits package as well as interesting work, a rewarding and friendly environment, excellent office space, and a respect for the work-life balance of our people through hybrid working.

All employees can participate in BDP’s stakeholder pension arrangement to which the company contributes, the BDP Profit Share Scheme and tax-efficient Smart Benefits, Life Insurance, Long Term Sickness Insurance, Private Medical insurance and health screening, interest-free season ticket loans and enhanced maternity and paternity provision, plus many more.

We offer regular international and studio-based social, sporting, and charitable activities.
