We are looking for a passionate LSA – Barnet to support pupils with physical disabilities and complex medical needs. This LSA – Barnet role requires a sensitive individual who can balance academic assistance with personal care. The school offers an extensive program of Education and Training to ensure all staff are proficient in manual handling and medical assistance. As an LSA – Barnet, you will work closely with the SENCO to adapt the curriculum, ensuring every lesson is accessible.
Through regular Education and Training, you will master the use of assistive technology and specialized equipment. This LSA – Barnet position provides a unique insight into the world of specialist care, backed by a school culture that prioritizes ongoing Education and Training for its entire staff.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Providing 1:1 physical and academic support in a classroom setting
2. Assisting with the use of hoists, frames, or communication software
3. Modifying lesson materials to suit individual mobility or sensory needs
4. Liaising with parents and healthcare professionals regarding pupil well-being
Essential Skills / Experience:
5. Experience in a care or educational setting (SEN experience preferred)
6. High level of patience and a nurturing, “can-do” attitude
7. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-agency team
8. Commitment to promoting independence and dignity for all pupils
