About the role
This role will suit someone who has the drive to promote and effectively manage the smooth running of the Railway Club. An important aspect of the role is to develop the Club as a Community Hub / Centre, promote the facilities available and identify new opportunities by means of effective marketing, networking and innovative solutions. The Manager will work to ensure the Railway Club is a vibrant, well-managed facility that operates for the benefit of local residents and organisations within a sustainable framework. This role will suit someone that will be self-motivated and can work autonomously.

Grade D, Scale Point 12 £30,021 - £34,121 per annum

Job Responsibilities:
· To manage the Railway Club as a Community Hub/ Centre and generate income to ensure the building is able to operate for all intentional purposes.
· To be responsible for Health and Safety in the building including, in conjunction with the Council’s Health and Safety, the review in updating of policies and procedures including Council policies.
· To encourage local services and activities to be run from the building, for example open days, social events, public meetings and private hire.
· To ensure the building has an up-to-date ‘User Induction Pack’ and all necessary procedures for the purpose of the building.
· To manage all staff and users to ensure the smooth running of the Services and activities, in accordance with the parameters of and under the direction of the Council/ Town Clerk.
· Line manage the evening/ weekend staff/ cleaners and ensure cover is provided during holidays/ sickness.
· To ensure the building is suitably maintained through the day-to-day repairs, maintenance programmes and external service contracts.
· To work together with the Communications Lead to maximise publicity opportunities and promote the use of the building and its availability for hire.
· To ensure that services provided by hirers are compatible with the terms of their hire.
· Be responsible for building/ property maintenance in discussion with the Town Council’s Business Manager.
· Banking responsibilities to be undertaken as and when required, this includes general cashing up such as end of day finance reports for cash payments.
· Ensuring payments for hirers are received and to liaise with the Finance Officer.
· To prepare monthly statistics for review with the Business Manager.
· As the role evolves to undertake additional duties as necessary.

· A professional attitude and approach to the management of the Community Hub/ Centre.
· Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
· Customer service skills.
· Confident, self-motivated, innovative and able to work under pressure.
· Good team leadership skills with the ability to develop and support all members of the team.
· Able to work collaboratively and prioritise work and demands.
· Understanding of financial budgets.
· Requirement to work shifts including evenings and weekends.
