Job Title: Part-Time Litigation Secretary
Location: Chichester
Hours: Part-time - 3 days per week 9am - 5pm
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Secretary to join a legal team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to our litigation solicitors, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing, formatting, and amending legal documents, correspondence, and court bundles.
* Managing case files (electronic and paper-based) and ensuring all documents are filed accurately.
* Scheduling appointments, meetings, and court dates, and maintaining solicitors diaries.
* Liaising with clients, courts, barristers, and third parties in a professional and confidential manner.
* Audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence.
* Managing incoming and outgoing post, emails, and telephone calls.
* Assisting with billing processes, expense claims, and time recording.
* Supporting fee earners with general administrative tasks as required.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience as a Litigation Secretary or Legal Secretary in a litigation team is essential.
* Strong typing and audio typing skills with excellent accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management systems.
* Knowledge of litigation procedures, court forms, and deadlines.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality.
* Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
