The Role: Cover Supervisor
Successful candidates will be placed in secondary schools across the Basingstoke area as a Cover Supervisor.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Covering classes during short-term teacher absences
* Supervising students while they complete pre-set work provided by the class teacher
* Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
* Ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the lesson
No lesson planning, marking or active teaching required
Gain first-hand classroom experience
Excellent preparation for future teacher training

During Your Placement You Will:
* Keep a reflective journal of your day-to-day experiences
* Observe lessons in your subject specialism and a variety of other subjects
* Develop your understanding of teaching styles, differentiation and behaviour management
* Learn how schools support pupils pastorally and deliver assemblies and registration
* Understand school policies and how they are implemented
* Learn the syllabus in your subject area and apply your degree knowledge in practice
* Support pupils with coursework and examination preparation
