You have an understanding of family interventions, drug, alcohol, and health-related issues, and experience of working with adults in addiction, housing, or social care settings. Aquarius is seeking a Complex Needs Practitioner (Family Practitioner) to join our team in Aylesbury.
Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome harm caused by alcohol, drugs, and gambling. We are part of ‘One Recovery Buckinghamshire’ (ORB), a partnership providing support for alcohol and drug issues across Buckinghamshire.
The role involves engaging individuals affected by substance use in various interventions, using a person-centred approach to empower them to reduce risks, increase resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.
Practitioners work flexibly across the community and within multi-agency settings, with a caseload including community and referral pathways involving health and social care. You will be part of multi-disciplinary teams, providing psychosocial interventions to diverse client groups, utilizing family interventions in collaboration with partners like ADFAM.
A key aspect is addressing holistic support needs related to wellbeing, physical and emotional health, understanding of substance use, relationships, meaningful activity, self-care, and goal setting.
Candidates should have experience in family/carer work or a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Experience working in family support or substance misuse, liaising with agencies, and engaging clients effectively is essential. Flexibility, good record-keeping, report writing skills, and willingness to work community outreach are required.
This is a permanent full-time role requiring 37 hours per week.
