Help spark curiosity in the lab — on a schedule that works for you.
Our students are truly exceptional – intelligent, articulate, funny, and welcoming. They value the support and care they receive, and they deserve nothing less than the very best. We are committed to ensuring they experience this consistently, in every aspect of school life, every single day.
We are a true comprehensive school which is built on strong family values, where everyone is seen, recognised and valued. This has led to us becoming one of the most successful and oversubscribed schools in the region. To continue to fulfill our ambitions for our students we need outstanding staff who are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and inspiring. We firmly believe we have a world-class staff team, and we're excited to welcome a new Science Technician to join our team.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Casual Science Technician to join our Science team. Our Science department is highly regarded for its commitment to practical, enquiry-based learning and innovative opportunities that inspire students to explore the world around them. Our success comes from a shared passion for igniting curiosity and developing the scientists, medics, and researchers of the future.
The successful applicant will be a proactive and dedicated technician who is ambitious for both themselves and our students. You will support the Science curriculum across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring practical lessons are safe, engaging, and well-resourced.
In return, you will become part of a school community built on strong family values, where staff are well supported, well resourced, and genuinely appreciated.
This includes:
1. Flexible, casual working hours that fit around your commitments – ideal for maintaining a healthy work–life balance.
2. Opportunities to gain hands-on experience in a vibrant, forward-thinking Science department without the pressures of a full-time post.
3. The chance to be part of an innovative and supportive team, contributing to exciting practical work, enrichment activities, and high-quality laboratory preparation.
4. A welcoming, respectful school culture where casual staff are valued and treated as an integral part of the team.
5. Access to outstanding laboratories, equipment, and resources, supporting your development while keeping the role enjoyable and varied.
6. A positive, appreciative working environment with manageable expectations and a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing.
Baysgarth School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS.
