Data Privacy Director
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Privacy Counsel to step into a Privacy Director role within a growing, fast-moving tech business. If you enjoy combining hands-on advisory work with team leadership and want to help shape a maturing privacy function, this role offers the ideal blend of responsibility and progression.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide practical, business-focused advice on privacy and data protection across product, engineering, marketing and wider business teams.
• Lead and support a small, collaborative privacy team across the UK and internationally, helping develop capability and consistency.
• Work closely with product and engineering colleagues to embed privacy by design and support the development of new features and services.
• Contribute to the company’s privacy strategy and help strengthen processes, policies and training as the function continues to develop.
• Support global compliance efforts, with a focus on GDPR and key international frameworks.
• Advise on privacy considerations relating to AI and emerging technologies.
What We’re Looking For:
• A UK-qualified lawyer with strong experience in data protection, ideally gained in-house within tech or data-rich environments.
• Leadership experience — formal or informal — and a genuine interest in developing people and ways of working.
• Someone who is comfortable operating hands-on while providing clear, commercially-focused guidance.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and good familiarity with other international privacy regimes.
• Ability to work confidently with product and engineering teams and translate technical issues into practical advice.
• Interest in AI and emerging technology developments.
This role is ideal for a high-performing Senior Privacy Counsel or similar privacy specialist looking to take the next step into a Director position, with real ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to shape a growing function.
