Job Description
We need a Marine Water Quality Officer to help make waters cleaner and thriving by applying technical expertise in marine environments, modelling, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
* Provide timely answers to technical questions.
* Review reports and summarise key information for decision‑making.
* Use data to inform water quality models and interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection.
* Summarise and communicate technical work, escalating challenges when needed.
* Build strong relationships across a dispersed team and with external partners.
* Contribute to incident response and incident management duties, with training and support provided.
Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; experience in data analysis and knowledge of modelling software preferred.
* Experience with tools such as Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS, and specialist packages like Mike or Cormix is an advantage.
* Comfortable working in a virtual team and travelling for occasional national meetings.
* Strong communication skills, able to convey complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
