Advert For E-Learning Support Officer (AI And Digital Skills)
The University of Manchester Library is seeking an E-learning Support Officer (AI and Digital Skills) to join the Teaching, Learning and Students (TLS) team. The role will support the Library’s teaching and learning services and strengthen our work in digital skills, academic skills and information literacy.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with colleagues across the Library and the Teaching, Learning and Students (TLS) team - including librarians, learning developers, coordinators, and other subject matter experts to create engaging teaching materials for online and blended learning that support the Library’s teaching and learning service.
* Work alongside colleagues and students from around the University to design and develop online learning resources, underpinned by a strong pedagogical understanding that specifically support digital literacy, including approaches to engaging with Generative AI within learning.
* Support and encourage staff in the Library in applying their own understanding of pedagogy and student support to online and asynchronous learning.
* Act as a link into the wider AI Transformation program for the Library, championing digital learning use cases and ideas for future AI pathfinder projects.
* The role is predominantly campus based but there will be opportunity to work from home one day a week.
About The Teaching, Learning And Students Team
The team is part of the Library’s student-focused services and works alongside teams across the Library and wider University to deliver academic, information literacy and digital skills support, credit-bearing teaching and other strategic student support activities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Ability to design and develop effective online learning materials and demonstrate a pedagogical approach to digital skills support.
* Experience designing online learning resources that develop students’ academic and digital literacy skills, including guidance on Generative AI in learning.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across the University, applying inclusive and accessible teaching and learning principles.
* Experience in online and asynchronous learning, and in applying pedagogical practices to support learners.
