Job overview We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic nurse to join the Breast CNS team for a 12 month secondment. The post will be mainly at the Eastbourne site, but the successful candidate will be expected to work cross site at the Conquest as needed. Main duties of the job The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate expert nursing care and provide support to patients with suspected and diagnosed breast cancer and those receiving cosmetic surgery as part of NHS care. The post holder will have continuing responsibility for the co-ordination of individual treatment programmes throughout the disease trajectory. The post holder will provide specialist advice and psychological support. They will develop communication pathways with key stakeholders across health and social care settings. The post holder will be involved in the development of policies and quality audit initiatives. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria NMC Level 1 Desirable criteria Cancer Nursing qualification. Experience Essential criteria Post registration experience preferably in an appropriate specialty at Band 6 (Surgery / Oncology) Desirable criteria Participation in change management Skills Essential criteria Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team as well as the wider MDT Desirable criteria Participation in research/audit.
