Dorrington House is looking for a Laundry assistant to join our friendly domestic team in Watton on a part time basis. We're seeking a caring and compassionate individual. Candidates must be warm and friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing our residents with high quality care and support.
Principal Responsibilities
· To ensure the laundry of residents clothing is to the highest standard, including ironing.
· Ensure the laundry is collected and returned to the correct area of the home on a regular basis, and personal clothing of residents is put away in a neat and tidy manner.
· Ensure that all residents' wardrobes and clothing drawers are kept clean, neat and tidy.
· Ensure that the laundry equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition. Report any defect to the person in charge and maintenance staff.
· To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
· To comply with COSHH regulations.
· To ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment.
· To ensure all necessary documentation is completed daily.
· To maintain standards of infection control within the laundry area and generally within the home and to assist residents to maintain their own infection control needs.
· To be committed to working in a changing environment, responding positively to new changes and be flexible to the changing needs of care.
Flexible working hours - 09:00 - 14:30 or Flexible start and finish considered - the role requires working every other weekend.
Shift pattern - 3 one week and 4 the next.
