Senior Service Engineer
We require an experienced and qualified Senior Service Engineer to join our team. Working alongside the Location Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading the engineering team and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy workshop to maintain our fleet and meet customer expectations. Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting the Location Service Manager in the daily management of the workshop.
2. Ensuring full coverage for servicing and maintaining our modern hire fleet.
3. Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine at the depot or on-site as required.
4. Producing monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules, organizing workload of engineers to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
5. Maintaining the fleet's appearance to meet corporate standards.
6. Providing guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls.
7. Locating spares, ensuring CE rating compliance where applicable.
8. Following guidelines set out in the Quality and Health and Safety policies.
9. Maintaining a basic stock control system for workshop spares.
10. Identifying training and development needs of workshop personnel.
11. Supporting depot engineers with technical assistance and advice.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Supervisory experience in a busy workshop, with the ability to lead engineers/technicians and uphold high standards.
* Previous experience in Powered Access industry or construction plant hire.
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent in maintenance/engineering discipline.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
* Experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is desirable.
* Good interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of excellent customer service.
