We’re on the lookout for passionate Support Workers to join our dedicated team in our supported living service in Pontllanfraith, Blackwood. You will be supporting 4 individuals who have learning disabilities and require support to maintain positive mental health. The 4 individuals require support to access activities and access the local community.
We have various part-time positions available, with a sleep in shift as extra.
This service operates 24/7, requiring flexibility with shifts, including:
• Day Shifts: 7:30am–3:00pm | 3:00pm–9:30pm | 11:00am–7:00pm
• Sleep-In Shifts: Additional to day shifts
You will work as part of a rolling rota that ensures consistent support for the individuals in our care.
A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role, as driving mobility vehicles is a key requirement to support those in our care.

About the role
The service promotes the importance of the “do with and not do for” approach and has had a very positive impact on these incredible individuals.
You would be providing the essential support to 3 outgoing and independent individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You would make a real difference to their lives by enhancing their life skills and helping them maintain independence.
Each with different personalities, likes and hobbies you could be joining the people we support in going on leisurely walks in the countryside, dancing to music, watching films, shopping, gardening, going on holidays and going out and about in the community. The individuals at this service are very independent and enjoy developing their independence further.
You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including:
Provide person-centred support, including personal care, medication, and companionship
Support daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and digital administrative tasks
Enable access to the community, activities, hobbies, and promote independence
Work collaboratively with strong communication and complete digital documentation to a high standard
Drive and support individuals out in the community (full UK manual licence required)
Contribute as a proactive team member, bringing fresh ideas and improving ways of working
Skills and Experience Needed
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.

Pay and Pensions
£25,877 (13.45 per hour)
Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift
