Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN & Mainstream Schools Across Bournemouth & Surrounding Areas
Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a variety of specialist SEN schools as well as mainstream primary and secondary settings across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset region. These schools support children and young people aged 5-19 with Autism, ADHD, social‑emotional needs and a wide range of learning profiles. Many of our partner schools are known for their therapeutic approaches, strong multi‑disciplinary teams and highly personalised support for pupils' learning and wellbeing.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a graduate seeking hands‑on experience in education, inclusion and child development, while making a meaningful difference to pupils' lives.
Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm, Monday to Friday (term‑time)
Pay: From a minimum of £14.96 per hour
About the Role
Support staff in delivering evidence‑based interventions that promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour
Assist with behaviour tracking, data collection and progress monitoring
Work alongside teachers, therapists and SEN teams to support learning and wellbeing
Provide small‑group or 1:1 support tailored to pupils' individual needs
Help develop strategies that improve engagement, motivation and social‑emotional development
Opportunities available across both specialist SEN provisions and inclusive mainstream classrooms
What We're Looking For
A degree in any subject (recent graduates welcome)
Interest in education, child development or supporting young people with additional needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team
Patience, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to supporting pupils
Previous SEN experience-particularly with Autism or behavioural needs-is beneficial but not essential

Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
