Business Development Representative (Entry-Level)
Location: Central Manchester | Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days WFH)
Salary: £27,000 base + £7,000–£10,000 commission (OTE)
Start Date: Mid-November
Interview: One stage – focused on you, not your CV
We’re hiring on behalf of a growing business consulting firm based in Manchester — and they’re on the lookout for confident, ambitious people ready to kick off their career in business development.
No experience? No problem. Whether you're a recent grad, didn’t go to uni, or just want to pivot into something new — this is a genuinely solid opportunity to get into a fast-moving industry with loads of long-term potential.
What’s a BDR anyway?
As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be the first point of contact for potential clients. Your job? Start quality conversations, spark interest, and book in meetings for the senior consulting team to take forward.
You’ll learn how to:
* Research and target businesses
* Start conversations that lead to real opportunities
* Use tools like LinkedIn, email, and phone outreach
* Understand what makes a business tick — and where we can help
It’s a great stepping stone into sales, strategy, or consulting — and you'll build skills that stay with you for life.
What’s in it for you?
* £27,000 base salary
* £7,000–£10,000 realistic commission in year one
* Hybrid working – 3 days in a central Manchester office, 2 from home
* Full training from day one – no sales experience needed
* A team culture that’s actually supportive, not cut-throat
* Clear progression pathways — promotions based on results, not time served
* One-stage interview focused on transferable skills like communication, confidence, and energy
What they’re looking for:
* You’re confident talking to people (on the phone, Zoom, or face-to-face)
* You’re driven — maybe you don’t know exactly what you want yet, but you want to get started
* You’re curious and ask good questions
* You’re not afraid to put yourself out there and try new things
* No degree or past sales experience needed
Key info:
* Interview: End of October
* Start date: Mid-November
* Based in Central Manchester (with flexibility to WFH twice a week)
If you’re looking for a first step into a real career (with support, growth, and no corporate jargon), this could be it.
