Overview
Child Protection and Adult Protection Committees are committed to the protection of vulnerable children and adults as set out in national guidance. Falkirk Committees are well established and strongly supported by local partners.
Role and Responsibilities
As independent Chair to both Falkirk Child and Adult Protection Committees, you will provide effective strategic leadership and direction to these Committees in carrying out their core business functions, including the Chairing of Committee meetings. You will ensure that the work and priorities of the Committees closely align with relevant strategic and operational structures at both local and national levels. You will attend the Public Protection Chief Officer Group to present and reflect the work of the Committees and contribute to the wider public protection priorities of the Community Planning Partnership.
* Chair and lead multi-agency safeguarding committees at senior level.
* Ensure alignment with strategic and operational structures locally and nationally.
* Represent Committees at the Public Protection Chief Officer Group and inform wider public protection priorities.
Qualifications and Skills
* Extensive knowledge and experience of leading partnership groups at a senior level.
* Working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and operational requirements.
* Strategic thinker with excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Strong commitment to partnership working, continuous improvement and learning cultures.
Terms and Location
The role will be for two years. Office space can be made available when required but it is anticipated that the post holder will attend a variety of locations for meetings and principally work from home. Access to email and the ability to use video conferencing facilities are essential. The Chair will be supported by the Lead Officer for Child and Adult Protection and have access to administrative support for the purpose of Committee.
Requirements
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
Remuneration and Expenses
Remuneration is set at £350 per day for a minimum of 36 days per year, plus relevant travel and subsistence expenses in line with Falkirk Council policies.
