About the Role
Am award winning, medium sized well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the highways and roads sector is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their team in the WN8 area.
This role will involve overseeing the delivery of highways and road improvement schemes, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within programme and budget. The position offers the opportunity to join a reputable contractor with a strong pipeline of infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the delivery of civil engineering projects within the highways and roads sector
* Leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
* Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
* Managing project programmes, resources, and cost control
* Liaising with clients, local authorities, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes
* Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance
* Providing regular progress reports, forecasting, and updates to senior management
* Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies
Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Project Manager within civil engineering
* Previous experience delivering highways, roads, or infrastructure projects
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Good commercial awareness and experience managing xsngvjr project budgets
* Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and health & safety requirements
* Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred)
Package
* £60,000 £80,000 salary depending on experience (top end for senior level PMs)
* Car allowance approximately 10% of salary or company vehicle
* 20% uplift on car allowance for electric vehicles (EV)
