The role
As a Support Worker, you’ll work closely with students throughout the school day, either one to one or in small groups. Your role will centre on helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and engage positively with school life.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
* Providing emotional and behavioural support in and out of the classroom
* Supporting students with SEN or SEMH needs
* Helping young people build routines, resilience, and confidence
* Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
Who this role suits
This role is well suited to someone with a background in care, mental health support, youth work, or similar settings. Experience supporting individuals with additional needs or challenging behaviour will be particularly relevant.
An education background is not essential. A calm approach, strong communication skills, and a good understanding of SEN and SEMH needs are key.
What the school offers
* A full‑time, long‑term position with consistent hours
* Working hours of 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday
* Pay starting at around £90 per day, rising with experience
* A supportive staff team with a strong focus on wellbeing
* An opportunity to build long‑term experience in an educational setting
This is a role for someone who values consistency, structure, and meaningful support work with young people.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
