Engine Shop Supervisor – Classic & Historic Motorsport

Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 (No Weekends)

Our client is a highly respected engineering business with an outstanding reputation for precision engine building across classic and historic race cars. From pre-war engines to Group B rally legends and modern classic GTIs, every day offers something unique.
This position requires someone who can not only build engines to exacting standards but lead a team, take control of parts, fabrication, deadlines, and deliver top-level technical support to clients and colleagues.

Oversee a small but skilled team (x5) in the Engine Shop
Still hands-on: Strip, assess, build, and test classic engines
Project manage engine builds & liaise with the machine shop
Provide tech support to customers & internal teams
Ensure deadlines are met and parts are sourced on time
Maintain build records and technical documentation
Sign off holidays, manage workflow, and champion qualityWhat You’ll Need:
Proven experience building vintage/classic/historic car engines
Leadership qualities & confidence managing a technical team
Sound engineering knowledge – able to interpret technical drawings
Understanding of carburettors, cam timing, compression ratios, ignition systems
Meticulous attention to detail and pride in high-standard builds
