Job Description
We are looking for a practical and proactive Facilities coordinator to help keep our Ellesmere Port site running smoothly and safely. You will organise and oversee day-to-day maintenance, ensure health and safety standards are met, and manage on-site contractors.
What You’ll Do
1. Make sure all building services (like water, gas, heating) work safely and efficiently
2. Respond to issues around site – from small fixes to arranging professional help
3. Organise and supervise contractors for repairs and minor works
4. Help improve the site with general upkeep and housekeeping projects
5. Keep clear records of any work carried out
6. Identify and report health & safety risks and help fix them
7. Make sure all work follows SGS’s safety, equality, and integrity standards
Qualifications
8. Good knowledge of general building maintenance and services
9. Hands-on experience with building maintenance
10. Good communication skills
11. Driving License
Desirable:
12. FLT License
13. Comfortable using Microsoft Office
14. Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, and joinery
15. Experience supervising contractors or working in a lab environment
16. Relevant qualifications ( City & Guilds, BTEC) – or equivalent experience
