Regulatory Support Officer – Food and Safety Team
Location: Riverside, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR33 0EQ or East Suffolk House, Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 1RT
Salary: £31,537 – £38,220 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time
Key Responsibilities
* Collect samples, conduct food safety visits, investigations, compliance checks.
* Work with external partners and contribute to project work such as health promotion.
* Support delivery of food safety, food hygiene, food business registrations and approvals, food poisoning investigations, occupational health and safety, skin piercing, infectious disease control, and port health functions for Lowestoft port.
* Engage with businesses proactively and reactively, visiting premises during opening hours and, where required, during evenings or weekends.
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 qualification or certificate in a relevant subject.
* Additional practical and procedural knowledge gained through achievement of relevant industry food safety qualifications or courses.
* Relevant experience in activities undertaken by the Food and Safety Team.
* Desirable: working knowledge of the IT system Uniform.

* Good analytical skills.
* Effective communication at all levels.
* Team player, organised and able to prioritise workload.
Working Arrangements
The team works in an agile way with a mixture of home and office working, depending on individual preferences and service requirements. The role requires availability during business trading times and for urgent responses, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
