Join a team where compassion meets community About the Role We’re excited to offer three Permanent Part‑Time Carer roles at Shalom Centre. As a Carer, you’ll support residents with warmth, dignity and compassion, helping them live well every day. You’ll build meaningful relationships, assist with daily living tasks, and contribute to a safe, supportive and person‑centred environment. Your responsibilities will include: Building genuine, trusting connections with residents and understanding their individual needs Assisting with personal care including showering, grooming, meals and mobility Supporting residents in activities that bring joy, purpose and social engagement Encouraging independence and choice while upholding dignity Communicating changes or concerns to supervisors to ensure care plans remain accurate Roster and Work/Life Balance These roles offer a stable, predictable and supportive permanent part‑time roster designed to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. Each role requires: Two-night shifts per week One additional AM or PM shift per week A total of three shifts per week, with both weekday and weekend shifts available to ensure flexibility and a great work/life balance With consistent weekly hours, a mix of shift options and the ability to plan ahead, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to manage family, study or personal commitments while building a meaningful and rewarding career in care. About You You’re someone who brings compassion, patience and a genuine desire to support older people. You’ll thrive in this role if you have the heart for care and the practical skills to deliver it safely and professionally. To be successful, you will bring: A Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent, or be actively working toward completion Experience in residential aged care or a similar care environment Competence in personal care tasks including showering, grooming, mobility and manual handling A strong commitment to person‑centred care, dignity and resident choice Good communication skills and the ability to build warm, trusting relationships The ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team Reliability and flexibility, with availability to work the required night shifts plus an AM or PM shift each week Basic computer skills to complete documentation and follow care plans A positive, respectful and empathetic approach to residents, families and colleagues If you’re passionate about making a meaningful difference and want to be part of a team that truly cares, we’d love to hear from you.
