Kind Regards, Job Title: Complex Needs Support Assistant Location: Harrogate Daily Rate: £90 - £110 Leader Education are seeking Complex Needs Support Assistants to work in a specialist SEN schools based in Harrogate. These schools support students aged from 5 - 19 with a range of Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Mild / Severe Autism, Downs Syndrome and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children and young people on a 1:1 or small group basis within a classroom setting. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, hours may slightly change depending on the school. The successful candidate will have: School experience is essential, ideally supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH needs. This is because the schools pupils require a lot of close support which if you were new to the role would be very difficult and not what the school are looking for. Makaton and/or BSL would be advantageous. Team Teach level 2, or willing to take part in our Team Teach course when we hold them. Be able to reliably commute to work via Public transport or personal vehicle. A patient, nurturing approach to supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff.
