Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, person‑centred Occupational Therapist to make a difference in the lives of individuals in mental health crisis. This Band 6 position is a fixed‑term secondment until the end of July 2026.
Main Duties of the Job
* Provide functional and cognitive Occupational Therapy assessments to service users in the Listening Lounge, crisis beds and home environments.
* Deal with complex physical and mental health needs using evidence‑based, client‑centred principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and record all interventions in line with relevant clinical pathways.
* Work with service users and their carers/family members on a 1:1 basis or in group settings.
* Provide professional advice for junior staff and students on placement.
* Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the OT pathway within the HBT and Listening Lounge/Hollybank services.
* Supervise Occupational Therapy students on fieldwork placement.
* Abide by the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the Professional Standards for OT Practice.

Person Specification
Essential
* BSc (Hons) Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Experience of working within mental health services post‑qualifying
* Ability to complete and report on comprehensive OT assessments and risk assessments
* Commitment to CPD and professional development
Desirable
* Any further relevant qualifications or training
* Experience in urgent care mental health settings
* Able to support and sign off OT students on placement
* Ability to complete mental state examinations
