Role Overview: Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. You can make a tangible difference.
We need someone adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of translating policy into action.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, supporting other workstreams as needed.
* Provide technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
* Drive reforms in waste management, helping to change how waste is managed in England, including shaping digital systems for waste management and policy development.
Our team is dispersed, working with various technical and project teams nationwide. We utilize smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, though some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The Team
You will join our Producer Responsibility Team, leading on waste regulation reforms to help achieve government goals of resource conservation and waste minimization. We promote an inclusive, positive, and supportive culture, leveraging evidence, expertise, engagement, and innovation to influence policy, legislation, and resource allocation.
Experience and Skills Required

We offer development opportunities and training. Your role will be based at an EA Office with flexible/hybrid working arrangements. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.

Contract Details
