Assistant Project Engineer – Environment
Normanton - South Yorkshire
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try. You will work on our Yorkshire Water Infrastructure Framework within our Asset Creation North & East Business, delivering schemes to the Water Industry across Clean & Waste schemes. Ideally based in or around South Yorkshire, you will travel across multiple sites/projects in the region.
What you will be doing:
As an Assistant Project Engineer with Galliford Try, you will work as part of the Pre‑Construction Team, assisting with solution development, design management and documentation, ensuring consistent standards across all projects. You will share market‑leading suggestions and ideas with the Project Delivery team to lead optimisation and performance. Day‑to‑day you will collaborate with other engineers to deliver a safe working site, supporting with compiling and updating plans and works information, identifying changes and reporting these to the Site Supervisor. Conduct early site investigation works, attend and input towards internal and client design reviews. You’ll be responsible for Health & Safety, encouraging a safe and collaborative working environment.
About You:
We seek individuals with a passion for your engineering discipline, logical and critical thinking skills, and a relevant engineering qualification. Experience in a national and multi‑site business or the Water Industry is desirable but not essential. You must be able to demonstrate key attributes:

You must have ECS & EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene) training or be willing to obtain it.
