The Opportunity
A large UK industrial organisation is seeking a Category Manager to lead a strategic logistics category across the UK operations.
Managing spend of approximately £400m, the role will develop and deliver category strategy across rad and rail logistics while building strong supplier relationships and working closely with operational stakeholders across the business.
This is a strategic procurement role focused on long-term value creation, supplier relationship management and category planning.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the logistics category strategy
Manage supplier relationships with a small number of key logistics partners
Deliver cost optimisation, innovation and value across the category
Work closely with operational and technical stakeholders across multiple sites
Share procurement best practice and support cross-business collaboration
Lead sourcing initiatives and contract management activity
