About the Role
As an Assistant Ecologist, you’ll support the delivery of a wide range of ecological projects, working alongside experienced ecologists and landscape architects to gain practical experience in surveys, reporting, and ecological assessment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with habitat and protected species surveys
* Supporting the preparation of ecological reports and mapping
* Helping to develop and implement mitigation and enhancement measures
* Managing and analysing ecological data
* Contributing to collaborative, multidisciplinary project delivery

About You
You’ll be passionate about ecology and the natural environment, with a desire to build your career in a consultancy setting. You’ll be organised, proactive, and collaborative, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn from senior colleagues.
You’ll bring:
* Some experience in ecological surveys and reporting (e.g. PEAs, UKHab, or protected species surveys)
* Understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
* Interest in or progress toward gaining protected species licences
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail and good organisational ability
* A full UK driving licence
* The right to work in the UK
