This consultancy consistently “punches above its weight,” securing complex and prestigious schemes across both public and private sectors. You will join a supportive team environment where progression into senior management is encouraged.Typical Responsibilities Include:
* Undertaking detailed design and structural analysis across a variety of building types within the property sector.
* Leading projects and overseeing the work of a dedicated design team.
* Providing guidance, mentoring, and technical direction to junior engineers and technicians.
* Regular communication with architects, contractors, and wider project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Liaising directly with clients and responding swiftly to technical queries.
* Attending site visits and meetings, contributing to technical reports and design reviews.
* Taking on increasing responsibility as you move toward higher-level management roles within the business.
Key Projects You’ll Be Involved InThe Cardiff office is currently engaged in a wide range of exciting and challenging developments, including:
* RC-framed multi-storey buildings up to 35 floors (hotels, residential, student accommodation)
* National out-of-town retail developments across the UK
* Custodial facilities and secure government-led projects
* Commercial and mixed-use developments
* Major hospital builds and extension programmes.
These diverse schemes provide strong technical variety and the chance to work on high-profile structural engineering challenges.What We’re Looking ForTo succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
* A degree (or equivalent) in civil or structural engineering.
* Chartered status with ICE or IStructE or actively working toward it.
* Proven experience in building structures within a consultancy environment.
* Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Tekla, Autodesk, and other analysis tools.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
* A strong understanding of the design and construction process from concept stage through to site delivery.
