The Role

Newcastle University Business School is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engagement Coordinator. Your role will oversee and input into the development, delivery and promotion of a wide range of employability, external engagement and business operations activities across the School.

You will need to have excellent project management skills together with a good understanding of customer service. Along with excellent communication and organisational skills you will also need to have experience of successful event administration/coordination. Key Accountabilities

1. Coordinate key projects across employability, accreditation, rankings, and external engagement to ensure effective planning, delivery, and evaluation
2. Act as the first point of contact for designated employability and careers events, providing project oversight, logistical coordination, and stakeholder support
3. Produce clear and engaging content to promote initiatives to current students and external partners. This includes supporting the marketing of key events to students across suitable channels to maximise awareness and attendance
4. Support accreditation and rankings activity by coordinating data, evidence, and project tasks across teams to meet internal and external requirements
5. To support and coordinate regular reporting for relevant committees within the School. This will include maintaining and analysing statistical information relating to the activities of the School and providing relevant management information for University/School purposes
6. Manage and develop administrative processes that ensure efficient and effective operations and recording of engagement activities
7. Process finance requests and coordinate relevant budgets, including monitoring and reporting on expenditures
8. Willingness and availability to work unsocial hours (evenings and weekends) when required
9. To take on a generic health and safety role within the School
10. Other duties, as defined by line manager, which support the successful achievement of Business School’s vision, strategy, and operations

The Person (Essential)


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

11. Excellent project management skills
12. Experience and understanding of customer relationship management and/or customer service
13. High level of organisational and time management skills and able to manage a range of tasks simultaneously
14. Excellent communication, both verbal and written skills
15. Ability to manage large amounts of information and pay attention to detail
16. Excellent IT skills, including experience of MS Office packages
17. Sound numeracy skills, with the ability to compile, interpret and report on statistical and financial data
18. Experience of successful event administration and co-ordination within a large organisation

19. Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritise workload, work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
20. Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of staff and to work well within and across teams
21. A positive customer focussed attitude
22. Proven ability to use initiative, adopt a creative approach to problem solving, and exercise judgement in order to consult on and refer issues appropriately
23. Ability and willingness to support colleagues during busy periods

Qualifications

24. Grades A-C in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE (or equivalent level qualification) or experience in a similar role/setting
