Direct Table Foods is recruiting for a full-time Intake Quality Controller (QC) to join its team.

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
Pay: From £13.57 per hour.
Hours: 10:30 – 19:00.
Days: Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities
* Supporting the delivery of all functional demands.
* Ensuring processes and procedures are followed.
* Supporting company efforts to raise quality standards and improve team working and communication.
* Championing health and safety on site, ensuring colleagues work in a safe environment.
* Being commercially aware to help introduce cost reduction measures.
* Monitoring departmental KPIs and ensuring targets are achieved and improved upon.
* Ensuring the business is compliant throughout.
* Auditing the Quality Management System (QMS), processes, GMP, fabrication and hygiene.
* Verification of hygiene standards (ATP, visual, environmental swabbing) and temperature control.
* Verifying key equipment used in the QMS, such as temperature probes, scales, salt analysis.
* Investigating customer complaints, supplier non‑conformances and internal non‑conformances.
* Sample collecting, registration and sensory evaluation testing.
* Providing training and support, where required.
* Creating a food‑safety culture.
* Liaising with support functions, as required, to support the site/business strategy.
* Supporting and answering team queries in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills
* Knowledge of HACCP and food safety.
* Working knowledge of computer systems such as Word, Excel, email, PowerPoint and databases.
* Experience of working within a food‑based manufacturing industry.
* Experience of working to food accreditation standards and customer codes of practice.
* Experience of working with diverse teams.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Internal auditor certification desired.
